Privacy Policy for Chord Scribe

Chord Scribe is made by Barbed Wire Glove Games ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Chord Scribe app handles, and how. The short version: your songs stay on your device, we don't run accounts or advertising, and the only information that leaves your phone is what's needed to process purchases and fetch web pages you ask for.

1. Information We Collect

Chord Scribe stores the following on your device only. We do not upload it and cannot see it: - Songs you create, including lyrics, chords, titles, authors, and copyright notes - Set lists - Display preferences and app settings - A cached record of whether your Pro subscription is active Uninstalling the app deletes this information. We do not provide backups or sync, so please export anything you want to keep.

2. Purchases

Pro subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your payment card or billing details. To confirm which features you've unlocked, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipts, your device type and operating system, and the app version. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or the contents of your songs. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

3. Importing from websites

When you paste a web address into the Import Lyrics screen, the app requests that page directly from the website you entered, the same way a browser would. That website will see your device's IP address and a standard browser request. If the site blocks the request, the app may try to fetch an archived copy from the Internet Archive (archive.org). We do not log the addresses you enter. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use any lyrics or chord charts you import.

4. PDF export

Exported PDFs are created on your device and handed to the sharing options your phone offers. Where the file goes from there is up to you and the app you share it with.

5. What we do not do

- We do not require an account or collect your name, email, or contact details through the app - We do not use advertising - We do not sell or share personal information - We do not track you across other apps or websites

6. Children

Chord Scribe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Your choices

- To stop purchase-related processing, cancel your subscription through Google Play or the App Store and uninstall the app - To request deletion of the anonymous purchase records held by RevenueCat, email us at the address below and include the platform you use - To remove everything else, uninstall the app

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app or on this page.
